GMP Invites Customers to July 16 Open House on Facebook Live
Bi-Annual Meeting is Opportunity for Customers to Meet GMP Leaders and Learn More About Energy
COLCHESTER, Vt. – Green Mountain Power (GMP) is reminding customers that its bi-annual open house will be streamed on Facebook Live this Thursday, July 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. The timing of the event coincides with the company’s recently filed request to hold rates flat next year, and will offer customers the opportunity to talk with GMP leaders about that and other topics, including the company’s response to the pandemic, operations, storm response, and programs to reduce energy and lower costs.
Since the pandemic began, GMP has taken several steps to help customers, including launching a package of money-saving programs for customers called Go, Save and Share Green. That initiative incorporates popular enhanced rebates on heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, electric bikes and mowers, as well as innovative programs that empower customers to help each other through sharing solar net metering credits and reducing energy use to benefit the Vermont Foodbank.
“We always love connecting with customers at our Open House events, and we’re looking forward to talking with them Thursday about any topics, including these new ways they can reduce their costs and carbon emissions, while also helping the economy and each other at the same time,” said Josh Castonguay, vice president and chief innovation officer at GMP.
As part of its multi-year regulation plan, GMP holds bi-annual public meetings with customers – typically one in the southern part of the state, and one in the northern part of the state. An Open House was held in St. Johnsbury in February. This one is online due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols and can be viewed live on GMP’s Facebook page. The video of the meeting will also be available afterwards on Facebook.
