“EVs are fun to drive and cheaper to own than gas vehicles. There’s no better way to learn about how they operate, how to charge up and how to save than by checking them out at an EV event. It is low key and we are there to answer your questions,” said Tiana Smith, who leads electrification programs at GMP.
According to a study by AAA, owning an EV is cheaper than a gas vehicle due to less maintenance required, which saves drivers thousands of dollars over the life of the vehicle. EV owners also save on charging compared to fossil fuel, with GMP discount EV charging rates equivalent to paying about $1/gallon for gas. GMP will also give you a Level 2 charger to install and use at home while you’re enrolled in the discount charging program.
Driving fossil fuel vehicles is the top source of carbon pollution in Vermont, and switching to clean electricity to power your transportation is the most effective step you can take to reduce your own carbon footprint, and to help the state reach its climate goals.
