Free Grant Money to Help with Your Utility Bills
A State of Vermont grant program can help if you’ve fallen behind on your utility bills due to the pandemic. So far, about 5,000 Vermonters have received this free help in paying past due electricity, telephone, water and natural gas balances. Don’t miss out! The deadline to apply is November 30th, and the program is first come, first served – so if the money runs out it will close even sooner.
This grant program is for both business and residential customers. You can learn the details to see if you qualify for the Vermont COVID-19 Arrearage Assistance Program online.
The Vermont Department of Public Service runs the program, and beginning October 22, 2020, previous grant recipients are eligible to automatically receive a funding supplement without filing another application. Plus, the program cap will be extended to include additional balances that are over 60 days late and were incurred after March 1, 2020.
If you qualify, the money does not have to be repaid. Again – the deadline is December 15th or when the money runs out, whichever comes first. Apply now!
