Green Mountain Power Proud to Lead the List of Top 10 Innovative Companies in Energy Selected by Fast Company Media

We learned today that we are once again on the list of Fast Company Media’s Most Innovative Companies, which honors leading enterprises and rising newcomers that exemplify the best in business and innovation. As part of its rankings, Fast Company releases the “Top Ten Most Innovative Companies” in the world in 36 separate categories from artificial intelligence to wellness. This year, we ranked #1 on the list for energy innovation, up from #8 last year.

Like the rest of team GMP, I’m proud that GMP is among the distinguished innovators recognized by Fast Company in 2018 but even more proud of the fact that our innovations come directly from our love of our customers and our obsession with their values and their desires for a low-cost, low-carbon future. We are also  inspired by how many companies have embraced innovation and are working to make meaningful change.

At GMP, our mission focuses on a new way of doing business that helps people use less energy, save money and dramatically cut carbon, which essentially is about improving lives and transforming communities. If you look at the list of other companies Fast Company selected—companies like Apple and Netflix and Square–you see that their goals are similar. They explore ideas and projects that excite people and enhance the way they live. That’s what drives most innovation at GMP along with a nice big healthy dose of love for the Vermonters we serve.
