Happy New Year!
As I reflect today, on the last day of 2021, I’m so grateful and inspired to live in Vermont and be a part of our team at GMP who care so deeply about our customers. As Vermonters continued to feel the impacts of the ongoing pandemic and the impacts of climate change, we worked tirelessly to connect people to federal and state assistance to get back on strong financial footing, to keep the state powered up after storms, and to make it simple and easy for our customers to cut carbon and costs at their homes and businesses.
As we begin the new year, never before has GMP been more motivated to serve our customers with a much more resilient energy system, enabling decarbonization in all aspects of their lives. This work requires that we evolve quicker than ever before. The climate challenges experienced across the country are heartbreaking and motivate us to move even faster as we radically transform the grid and deliver a clean, resilient energy system that is there for our customers when they need it most. We continue to be at the forefront of energy transformation nationally, and that’s because, in partnership with Vermont energy companies, policymakers, regulators, and our customers, we have the best minds and hearts right here in this brave little state to get it done.
Finally, as we look to 2022, we are undoubtedly living in quickly evolving and often difficult times. 2021 again tested us, our strength and our togetherness. As we begin the new year, we must stay focused on our mental health just as much as our physical health. I wish you a safe and happy New Year – take care of yourself and look out for one another.
